Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. Her mother raised her in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that caused her to feel as a non-person. In the ninth grade, after a school audition in which she was praised for her singing as she built confidence. The experience not only helped to boost her confidence, but also changed her goals in life. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. When she was 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail, were her biggest break. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. The following year she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. Apart from being a popular singer, she released a solo and an extended piece. In addition, she has been an advocate for LGBT issues.
