Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. Ashford is an actor, singer and dancer. Her initial performances on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of an Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who created Hamilton directed the production. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
